Myer’s Basic Nutrient cocktail: Developed by John Myers, the first IV vitamin treatments were administered in Baltimore in the 1970s. There are many variations but the basic ingredients consist of high doses of B vitamins, vitamin C, and minerals (magnesium and calcium) mixed with normal saline.
